Google Algorithm Update Hurting Large Sites’ Rankings

Search engines are known to always change or update their search engine algorithm, the search engine algorithm contains that different search ranking criteria or factors on how a website is going to be ranked or if the website is ready to be indexed in the search engine’s database. The continuous or constant upgrade of the search engine algorithm is primarily geared to improving the search engine results page of a search engine and the SERP’s improvement is aimed towards displaying the most relevant websites according to the search query of the user. Conforming to the search engine algorithm’s criteria is a very difficult thing to do because of the mere fact that search engine algorithms are kept secret. It is because of this that many webmasters have evolved into becoming SEO companies or SEO consultants whose primary goal is to have their target website rank high in the search engine’s SERP, which can only be achieved by practicing proper SEO techniques and researching for new ways on how to incorporate new internet technologies in order to gain traffic and a good search engine ranking.
Many search engine optimisation companies are always on the lookout for such algorithm changes which can be measured or seen through the observation of the drastic change in the ranking of their target website. Google is a search engine company that is most sought after by SEO Companies and SEO consultants because of the fact that it is the search engine that is being utilised by around 65%-70% search engine users. However, Google has recently created or updated their search engine algorithm which affected a lot of websites especially those that are considered to be large websites. The algorithm change of Google which now favors quality sites that are using long tail keywords for long tail queries have affected large websites that has several dedicated web pages for product descriptions. E-commerce sites are generally affected since the web page containing the product description only has a small number of content as well as a short tail keyword.
Although such is the current situation Google is set to make several algorithm changes which would help in the development and increase the accuracy of the search engine results page of Google.
